Redistribution of Wealth- Socialist Myth

Redistribution of Wealth

“Redistribution of Wealth” is hallmark propaganda espoused by socialist and progressives and directed at lower- to moderate socio-economic people.  A Universal Health Care System and environmentalism are used to bait potential converts to their movement.  In the U.S. this takes the form of the current proposed Health Care Reform including its “Public Option” and Cap and Trade fueled by “Climate Change” propaganda.  Capitalism and the Constitution are frowned upon and are objects of their derisive rhetoric.  Although socialism and its ilk have failed each and every time to create a Utopian state, radicals leftist use it to attract those they believe are exploited and excluded from society.

It is understandable how Obama and Rahm Emanuel have cavalier disdain for American values.  The procrastination in aiding our troops in Afghanistan and socialist agenda are telling signs.   One generation of existence here can never provide the same richness of history, the same sacrifice, and the same sense of community that course through the veins of Americans whose families have been here for countless generations.  You do not value something if you haven’t earned it.   The Pilgrims came to the New World seeking religious freedom.  England stretched its arm across the ocean and tried to limit freedoms and impose unfair taxes on the Colonists.  The Colonists responded by rejecting and defeating  England and establishing the United States of America.  We have a Constitution for necessary reasons- to ensure our freedoms and prevent oppressive behavior by those that would subjugate us.

Obama himself stated that he would “fundamentally change” America.  One of Merriam-Webster’s definitions for revolution is “fundamental change” in political organization.   Aristotle described two types of political revolution:  Complete change from one constitution to another and Modification of an existing constitution.  It appears that his goal is the second of Aristotle’s descriptions.  This would give rise to a Demo-Socialist (my term) state which allows its citizen to vote and select leaders in an effort to appease the populace’s need for political   illusory self-governance.  At the same time, the state nationalizes most institutions and bottle feeds its citizens universal health care, meaningless jobs, and self-serving propaganda.  Sounds like Obama has a leg up on this as the bank bailouts and automobile buyouts give the government major control of these industries.  This control was pronounced with the government’s decision to limit salaries of top bank executives.  The Health Care bill if passed will eventually lead to a single-payer health care system.  Revocation of coal mining permits is another instance of socialist strong-arm tactics.  But this happened before in Europe.

Over 200 years ago a peoples sailed to the U.S. from England.  Christians searching for a place to practice their religion free from prejudice and discrimination arrived in the New World.  Tyranny in the form of the English monarchy followed them here.  The people here in the Colonies had something in common- search for religious tolerance.  That common denominator and the reluctance to pay unfair taxes to a greedy monarch led to a revolt.   Most Socialist schemes are diametrically opposed to values and principles held by generations of Americans.  Don’t Tread On Me.

Oh, and redistribution of wealth is a lie-a fairy tale.  Raising the taxes on the wealthy only causes them to sell their products and services for higher prices.  They still make the same profit.  However everyone else pays more for goods and services which now generate more tax revenues for governments at all levels.  That's why it never works.  But it sounds good, gets votes, creates big government all at the expense of the "non-wealthy".

Double Standard?

Recently, Rush Limbaugh was removed from an investor group attempting to purchase the St. Louis Rams football team.  Apparently, an alleged racial remark made years ago by Mr. Limbaugh angered Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton.  It appears that their influence upon NFL players and owners was sufficient enough to cause Mr. Limbaugh’s removal from the investor group.

A book by Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools Czar Kevin Jennings contained a story of a 15 year old boy sexually involved with a much older adult male.  This was confided to Mr. Jennings in a school setting where the counseling advice consisted of whether the boy was using a condom.  A couple of things puzzle me here.  Why wasn’t this reported to authorities and what possessed Mr. Jennings to reproduce this episode in his book?  Nevertheless, I don’t see Rev. Jackson or Rev. Sharpton clamoring for the removal of this individual from such a sensitive and important position.

Health Care Reform

Is Health Care Reform a right or a privilege?  If it is a privilege, then leave the private for-profit industries alone.  As with other for-profit businesses like Microsoft, Disney, Starbucks etc. the goal is to furnish goods or services and make a profit.  This creates jobs and is good for America.  Executive Branch and Legislative Branch meddling is infringing upon the pursuit of happiness.  Some have suggested allowing states to option in or out of the Public Option.

Why not scrap the faulty Health Reform Bill and let each state handle health care for the uninsured in their state.  Give them a timeline for implementation.  Remove the Anti-Trust protection that health insurance companies enjoy at our expense at this time.  Allow competition across state lines but mandate that  the companies establish offices in states they do business.  This will give states some oversight and allow customers to interact with that company within their own state.  It’s a start and costs virtually nothing but the paper the bill is written on.  Don’t waste $1 trillion dollars for the sole sake of bigger government.

If it is a right, then the government should provide it .  Bipartisan debate should begin to address this issue.
